Dual Consoles have grown on me over the last few years.
If I was in to fishing, it would definitely be the style of our next boat (whenever that will be...)
Pricey compared to similar-size bowriders – but the build, ride and versatility are worth it (from what I have learned)

Of the couple of DCs we looked at, this was my favorite:

That Grady is one of my favorite DC's!

Grady made a valiant effort to make the dash larger for todays electronics.

I just wish that they would add an optional hardtop with canvas enclosure for that model. It would suit offshore anglers much better.

I know Seaswirl offered a hardtop on their DC a few years ago, and I believe ProLine did as well.

Thanks for the pics!

A little odd that the helm seat is offset away from the side of the boat that much ...

I would say this it is to necessitate the dashboard configuration to allow todays larger electronics.

The seat does line up with the wheel, and the wheel is placed there to allow more room on the dash. It wouldn't have worked out too well if the seat was closer to the gunnel.

Another thing that I noticed about the large dash, is the narrow space between the front of the dash and the glass from the windshield. I know my hands and forearms won't be able to reach all the way in there to clean either surface.

But this arrangement is MUCH BETTER than their previous DC model.

Function over form???

My thinking too ABoater. But I'm still not thrilled with the result. Perhaps we shouldn't demand big displays in low profile boats?

When I was doing my research for my next boat (90% possibility a Grady), the dealer showed me a survey which included info on the 225. One thing that I noticed was the consistent request for a larger electronics portion of the dash for the larger units available today.

I know back when I bought my Scout, and compared it to the Grady 228, one of my complaints about the Grady was the lack of space for flush mounted, larger electronics.

The Scout's dash was just fine for todays electronics.

To be fair, the Scout was a mew model, versus the Grady 228 getting a little long in the tooth...

Now that Grady comes out with a new model, it has the larger dash.

Kudos to them for listening to the folks that actually use or are looking to buy their products.

It seems that they are giving the folks what they want.

And folks need to be careful what they wish for...

Very nice looking DC. I only wish that it had a walk through transom like the Hydra Sport, Robalo, Century, Pro Line, to name a few.
