My 6 year old son was recently introduced to the Bean Bag game (sorry, just couldn't use the other name in that phrase) at a friend's house and had a lot of fun playing it w/ some recent college grads. It was very nice of them to include him and they really treated him well; they seemed to all be having fun...running laps around the yard when losing a round, etc. Anyway, we decided we would build a set and I launched an internet search to find plans and a parts list. The game seems to have gotten pretty popular the last few years and I though I'd maybe save somebody some time by posting my search results. Top notch how-to website w/ plans, pics, explanations, etc...really well-done: Cornhole How-To Yep, they have one: American Cornhole Association Nice site, you have to pay $5 for plans, but there are useful articles and the comments after the articles are useful: CornholeCornholeWe haven't built ours yet, but hope to buy the supplies this week. There are numerous places to order stickers, etc but we may try to paint our own...or maybe get a stencil made. Any other good websites out there? Anyone made their own? Tips? Pictures?

AT,
I built 2 sets with my neighbor last summer. When I get home, I will get you the measurements for the location of the hole, etc. For the face, we just cut a 4x8 sheet of plywood into 4 sections (Hence 2 sets). We used 3/4", which is probably overkill (1/2" works fine), as many of the neighborhood kids like to walk on them during BBQs and other events. They are sturdy and work great. For the border we used 1x4s, however I may swap them out this winter for 2x4s for added stability again. The most expensive part was unnecessary, but made it alot easier, that was a 6" holesaw, for a clean hole, rather than a jigsaw.
We love the game, the whole family plays it. In fact when we had our family reunion this summer down at Ocean Isle Beach, it became the defacto game for all ages.
