I am wondering if Ed Hochuli will be suspended for his terribly blown call?!

Broncos win AND the Faders beat the Chiefs? Go figure. Nice lead in the AFC West. Hope they can sustain the winning ways.

Ed is routinely rated as one of the best in his business. We are all human and all make errors. Ed admitted as much, which makes him a stand up guy, but doesn't change the outcome in this instance.

I don't see a suspension for him nor do I think it is warranted. Owners can change the rules if need be to allow a different outcome to be pursued should something like this occur in the future, but this is not the first NFL game that had a tough call stand and it will not be the last as long as human beings are involved.

Every team benefits and loses over time I suppose.

Cigar Man, I am with you....need some D.

the jets decided to be the jets again.....very disappointing. was wondering what kind of candle to light under their arses in the first quarter, then the second quarter, then the thrid quarter...you get the idea. gonna take some advice an old college buddy gave about girls in a bar and apply it to the jets. he said "you might as well lower your expectations early, 'cause you're gonna lower 'em anyway".

.....

NFL rules were changed one other time right after the Chargers got beaten. The Raiders kicked, tossed, and slapped the ball into the endzone for a TD a few decades ago while playing the Chargers. Rules were changed to prevent that on 4th downs.

Yesterday Ed made a big mistake. Stuff happens.
What i thought was a showing of great sportmanship was Cutler himself even said he thought it was a fumble.
That was a great game overall.

Yep, the NFL will just use this as part of Hochuli's "grade" for the season. It may keep him from the Super Bowl, but they apparantly don't suspend officials in season. He may get "additional training" if his grade is not high enough for the season. Small help for the Chargers, who got royally screwed!

Still, even with all that, the Chargers had two opportunities to stop the Broncos on the last two plays of the drive. AND they had a few shots at a FG late in the game. They didn't get it done. Sometimes that is the way it goes. If they had made either play on the TD ot PAT of Eddie Royal, they still win. Luck makes stange bedfellows sometimes. There is still that game in SD later in the year if they want some revewnge. Get ready Rivers...... d

Yeah, you're right they had 3 chances to stop them (3rd down, 4th down and the conversion), but they had already stopped them on 2nd down and gotten the ball back. None of those other downs should have existed. Kinda like Missouri and the "5th down" game!

+1 here, my respect level for Cutler went up a lot when I saw this press conference.

Once again Ron Turner cost the Bears another game we should have won. Here's an idea why don't we abandon the run which dominated the 1st half and have our poor excuse for an NFL QB throw to a receiver corp which would be 3s and 4s on any other team.

How this man has a job in the NFL baffles the mind. I'm convinced he has pictures on Lovie.

The good news is I need another 1-2 bad seasons for my number to finally come up on the season ticket wait list.

That's a little sad, there 4Winns. You are actually waiting for the "priviledge" to pay thousands of dollars to watch a team that has had 2 good seasons in the last 10? I'll say a little mini football prayer for you.

Ron Turner is a clown. He runs U of I into the ground, then shows up in Chicago. They let RON Rivera get away, and keep RON Turner. Great plan.

He's needed to go for a long time.

That how dey do it in Chitown. Get rid of teh good and keep teh bad. Recent history, Jones/Benson, Ron/Ron, QB shuffle (Although we haven't really had one of those)...

Billy,

I'm a Bears and Cubs fan, I'm used to losing. Nothing beats tailgating and Soldiers Field on Sundays. I put it above being out on the boat.

2Suns,
they didn't let Ron get away as much as they forced him out. I say good riddance he interviewed for 9 jobs in his time as coach here. He had interviews setup the day after the Superbowl, his play calling cost us that game. His head and heart weren't into it. I hope the door hit him in the a$$ on the way out. I hope he's enjoying being a LB coach.

Become a Steelers fan, then you'll get used to winning. And since they aren't on TV on Sundays much in Illinois, you can still go out boating!
