Don't tink the Pats are gonna go 18-1 this year. They just had the two most devastating games in recent team history, in a row. That said, they are still an excellent team even without Brady and have the easiest schedule (on paper) in the NFL this year. Defense has improved dramatically since last year, and so has the running game. The Oline is still in the elite class and special teams is palying well.

My fingers are crossed that our backup QB can run this offense, but having Moss and Welker as targets should certainly help. His QB rating for his first real game was 116 and he got a W, not bad at all for a starter in the NFL, let alone a backup. Perhaps 4 years of mentoring by Tom Brady was effective... Time will tell.

I thought the Cowboys and Bears looked great. Missed the other games.

Sucks about Merriman, Chargers are gonna miss that guy this year. Now Vince Young is wigging out. What a strange and sad start to the season.

How 'bout dem Donkeys?? Is it too much to hope for a whole different kind of year from them? I have been a fan since the '70s and this could be one of the most interesting 'new looks' yet.

Elway in the SB years was amazing. But you gotta like Royal w Chezze so far, and with Brandon Marshall coming back this could get interesting. "Le Big Mac" & "Royale with Cheese?" mayhaps? De Hall falling flat on his face as Royal beat him over and over was fun to watch - haha kinda fun. And the sight of Al Davis sulking in his luxury suite with his drool towel in his lap. Made my night. thumb

Hopefully this Broncos team shows up next weekend as well. If so, it'll be a good game. Can't wait to see what Marshall and Royal do this year.

Cutler is starting to show his promise. Nice Game kicking the snot out of the Faiders. Just like old times.... d

Cigar Man,

Yup, a fan for years here too. Maybe we paid our dues after watching so many thumpings in SB's when the only 'player' we had (the one that got us there by himself) was Elway.

I enjoyed to two back to backs, but would say scuttlebut around here is this team is more talented. Time will tell....but that was a great way to start the season.

As for Al Davis, whassup with that? He looked like he was sitting on a john with the handicapped handles on the sides. And the 'broads' that he had in the suite were pretty interesting too. You could see the discomfort on the faces of those next to him as the broadcasters were pounding him for his inability to let anyone have sufficient control to actually 'run' the team.

Felt bad for Kiffin, but not for so many of those playas with attitude that thought they were 'all that' and milked Big Al out of so much $$ and then barely showed up to play.

Bring on 'Cry me a Rivers' this weekend and lets see how we fare against a good team. Plan to enjoy with nice Diamond Crown!

Well.....

I'll say this, it was an exciting game to watch. 1000 yards of offense and almost 80 points on the board.

I guess a 'W' is a 'W', calls go bad from time to time, Chargers were on the wrong end of these this time.

Football season doesn't start until NASCAR is over with. Since yesterday was low 90's and nice (didn't go boating) I had other honey do items to do.

Denver got some major breaks from the officials, cashed in on them, and got out of the stadium with a victory. They got VERY lucky in this game. The Ghosts of Mile High are back? Works for me.

This victory should not mask the fact that Denver desparately need to correct that pathetic defense, all 11 of them, including the so-called shut-down CB's. I like Bailey most of the time, think Bly is overated from what he has shown me. I can't tell if it was lack of pressure by the linemen, or a rare poor game from Champ (he was scorched by Chambers), Dre, Manuel, Paymah (who has looked lost in coverage all year IMHO), or just a large combination of all. It should send a loud and clear message to that defense when your coach elects to go for two rather than the extra point and a tie. No confidence that we could stop them in OT.

Next week they face another team with a couple of good running backs, and a good QB with a number of quality targets. If we expect to see more of the same from our offense each week then it is time for our defensive players to quit talking about how they are better this year, and start showing some of that on the field. Tell you what D players, silence yourselves as the O line has done and concentrate on doing your farkin' jobs. Your offense has put up 41 and 39 points, leads the NFL in offense, they should not have been in danger of losing either game.
