Even though I was not all that impressed with the built in navigation system in some loaner cars, I am a gadget nut and have drooled over some of the vehicle units out there. I have a Garmin GPS 72 that I have enjoyed to a minor degree, but I have wanted one with maps. For the past month, I have a $100 bill burning a hole in my pocket and finally decided to get a Tom-tom One XL that is on sale at Best Buy and Amazon for $160. They have just come out with the One XL-S and need to get rid of the old models. Obviously, this has very few of the bells and whistles. Anyone familiar with this? Any suggestions, tips, etc?
In a "money no object" world, I would be getting a Garmin Nuvi 880 with a 7" screen and waterproof, but my fun is on a very limited budget. I figure in another ten years, these will be real interesting market items, and be integrated in ways we cannot imagine now.
