We were going to try to make it out for awhile on Saturday but that didn't work out. We took some good friends and his step-mom out for a sunset cruise tonight and it was great. We pulled out of the slip at 4:00, got to our favorite anchorage at 5:15 and dropped the hook.

GW fixed a hors d'ouvres layout that looked like a buffet place, then we threw on the grill and cooked some burgers. The weather cooperated, the sunset was nice but not spectacular, and we ran back to the slip after dark, getting back there just about 9:00.

No pics to share, but just lots of memories made tonight.

Anyone elses besides BillyB and I make it onto the water this weekend?

Pulled boat from the slip and sat it on the trailer to ride out the remnants of Hana. However, we did manage to get out on the water in a manner of speaking. We went to Capt. Billy’s for dinner. This is a seafood restaurant that sits on pilings over the Potomac.

The wind blown swells were cresting over their pier.

Sunday was simply drop dead gorgeous weather wise, but it would be very unwise to be out on the water just after that kind of storm.

Nope. Getting her ready to put away for the season.

i got to the marina friday night to batten down the hatches, throw some extra lines on, attach some more fenders, and brace for a tropical storm. the storm wasn't half as bad as predicted. maybe it figured out that new york isn't in the tropics. yesterday we had family obligations. i can feel the season ticking down. hopefully the next few weekends will be nice.

Yep. Saturday was so warm, that we decided to splash the boat around 4pm and take an early evening ride in the South Delta.

Watching the sun set over Mt Diablo is never boring...

Nope, handed the keys over to my 24 y.o. son to take it to Lake Powell for this week with his GF's family on a house boat.

Our friends decided we were going to BBQ at the dock saturday, so we took the babyliner out for a crawl...ooops, been in the water almost 3 weeks, during algae bloom. Could barely get on plane--in fact, I'm not sure it GOT on plane...

Took the daddyliner out for a dump ride Sunday, might be the last ride of the season for this boat. I want to pull it and start prepping for a paint job, and get the winterization done before the last minute like normal...

Pulled the babyliner out, wow. No wonder it wouldn't go. I got pics, just not here, but I've never seen so much green carpet, and in only 3 weeks...

Gonna be puttin' a fork in this season real soon I'm 'fraid...

Capn, I'm disappointed in you. Some of the best boating of the year is yet to come!

No and weather was perfect for it except a short storm on Sat afternoon...I'm afraid busy schedules are gonna make any more boating days hard to come by now that the kids are back in school.

It's good to see I'm not alone in thinking the season doesn't really start until after Labor Day. Lakes are empty, colors start changing, nice and cool in the evenings/nights on the boat. If I only had indoor heated storage for this boat I'd be in Heaven!

Yep, haven't posted much this year but we have been out almost every weekend. Added a few members to the crew this year.





Did this most of the summer thought due to gas prices.
