Monterey 320 SY – Hull #1

After looking online, it seems to share many things with the 330 SY...

100 grand off MSRP. How do they still make money? lol

Other than the SS railing on the sunpad, I like it.

Crowded cockpit for a 32 foot boat. Price seems okay.

Agreeded, but the 330SY has a very crowded cockpit for its size of boat.

I also have never understood the the SS rail on the back of sun pads. There have been a few manufacturers to do that.

Yeah, what's with the $17? Can't round it down to an even $187,000? Reminds me of a bottle of wine I saw once in one of our state-run liquor stores, it was $965.10...10 cents? I guess the dime is the state's profit?

Any pics of the new 280SC? How did the cockpit room compare between the 320 and 280?

Capn, There was no 280SC (it might have been inside, but I don’t think so?)
The three other Monts I spent time on & will post pictures of:
400 SY: not a new design, but gorgeous all around
278 SSX: (former 268) not new & that boat has been covered here – but it was the first time I spent a long time on one & took pics
318 SSX (former 298) again not new... just one of the amazing 30ft Bowriders out there.
(ironically, the 320 was the only new Mont I photographed... I took twice as many pics of the ones above)

Since “crowded cockpit” came up,
here is the 320 SY compared to the 400 SY:

320

400

btw, none them seemed real crowded to me in person...

Fshr5, I would need a lot more help than $17 if you want me to take you for a ride funny

Thanks LL. The helm's look fine.
Anyway, I meant the space in the cockpit.
ie. open floor space and elbow room with the sink and flip seated swim pad thingy. Here is a link to the 2009 280SC if interested.
And the 280SC helm for comparison.

Ah..
I don't have much to go on Capn, but imo, Monterey seems to have less cockpit space than similar brands of the same size.

I like the nav screen right in the middle of the helm. I also see the "magic" joystick in the 400.

What's the beam on this boat? It looks narrow for a 32' boat unless this is a 32' boat like my 298 is a 31' boat.

The Monterey web site says that the new 320 SY has a 33' 10" LOA by 10' 10" beam. It is narrow in my book, too. Regal makes a LOA boat at 30' 10" with a beam of 10' 6" and a LOA boat at 34' 8" with a beam of 11' 4". And Formula has a LOA boat that is 33' 1" with a beam of 11' 0".
