You might give a call to the manufacturer. I know that Sea Ray buys the Sundancer font from a private company, Checkmate may do the same. Depending on what you're making you may be able to pay the owner of the font a small stipend and get a license to use it.

Thanks Gents - I did a lot of poking around the net and came to the conclusion that Admin nailed it 100% - this is a " one off " custom job.
On the never ending project, I had some left over carpet and sent it back to have foot rests made and wanted to have the logo embroidered on them. At this point, I may just go with a simple clean font as the pieces of carpet are only 16 x 5 inches and are below the cowlings.

The place that does the embroidery should be able to copy your picture and create the vector files needed to embroider the logo. Problem is, when you ask most places to do this they may say no because of trademark infringement. (but it's not)

I have a collection of thousands of logos that are 'good to go' (perfectly legal to use)-- Only "Checkmate" I could find was a 'staffing solutions' company...
However, I did find these (I'm sure I could find many more!)

FR,
I think since the boat by the time I'm done will be a real one off, I'm going to see about designing something of my own and send ot off to www.snapincarpets.com.
Lots of distrations this summer, one of which was some pain in my feet and legs, a complication of my diabetes. Kids are back to school, and I'm feeling better now so I"m really looking forward to getting back to work on the project.
