So, what are your thoughts on your team or any of those in contention for the national title?
Only a few teams played tough games this first week. I enjoyed a few of the games. Michigan State / Cal was good to watch. UCLA / Tennessee was a good one with an outcome I didn't expect. Michigan / Utah was boring and frustrating in the first half but was a bit better in the second half. LSU was a blow out as expected. USC blew out Virginia to vault to number 1.
I think that's all I had a chance to view some portion of. Our cable company finally added the Big Ten Network Saturday which will expand my college football viewing
I was traveling to Charlotte, NC last weekend. Not knowing the football schedules, I saw a lot of VT fans heading north on Rt77 around 4 PM. Thinking that they will be late to the game at VT. I called my BIL/SIL to look on the internet to find out, ECU was playing VT in Charlotte. I guess VT wont play at ECU because the visiting fan section is too small for VT fans. I ended up talking iwth my SIL and the conversation went similar to this "one team was lining up for a field goal and the other team blocked it" I didn't get into too much as we were near Lake Norman and looking at boats on the water is more enjoyable than talking about football.

Nobody flashed you as you crossed the I-77 causeway over part of Lake Norman did they? Believe it or not there was some semi-serious talk of putting up a screen/fence of some kind to block the view of the lake from I-77!! I guess the view can slow traffic sometimes...so then if you don't have a boat not only could you not get on the lake, but you couldn't even look at it! That was last year, I haven't heard anything about it this year. In fact there is a move afoot to open access and allow shore swimming from several parks along the lakefront. Right now the only public shore swimming area is the State Park near the north end (Charlotte is to the south).
I caught a bit of the ECU/VT game. My brother went to Tech, but I had a hard time not rooting for ECU. Tech's QB was completely ineffectual near the end of the game. The last VT series where they needed to drive down and score was poor...4 and out.

Are you sure you want to watch more Big 10 football after the opening weekend they had?
Missouri's offense looked like it picked up where it left off last year, but the defense that was supposed to be improved over last year still needs work. USC looks very good. I didn't see any other games.

Yep, I know a 4 kids on a couple of the teams. Besides the Big 10 did go 7 wins with the 3 losses over the weekend and the 3 losses could have been expected anyway.
YSU Penguins are a good Championship Subdivision team, not the best, but a good team. I was more surprise that LSU beat App State so badly, as they are the Best Championship Subdivision team in the country.
Let's get past the powder puff game to see who's really good, okay?

I just thought it was funny that she's wearing a jersey of a guy who not only left that school more than a decade ago, but is retired from Pro football!

So what happened yesterday? I was on a boat trip and not near a TV or radio all weekend?
I didn't catch much as I went to the MEEEEEEEEEEchigan game. I was not impressed by Michigan this weekend. We have growing pains in Michigan football. Saturdays game didn't have the same feel for me as previous years/games. The game started good in the first quarter but after that it seemed to drag until the end. Even the band didn't do much for me as they did a half time show with a tribute to the "boy bands". Sure the students got into it but for the other 90,000 fans it didn't have the same feel.
I did catch highlights or lowlights for some of the teams. WVU beat by ECU. Ohio State had early trouble with Ohio. I did watch some of the Florida/Miami game which was good for the most part.
Anyway, there's my take on week 2 in college football (I should have started a new thread).
