You have never heard of Youngstown State, 4 time Division 1-AA national champions? Or Mount Union, 8 time Division 3 champs (all since 1993).
So you don't know 66% of what you think you know. grin

Wrong, Ohio State is the largest college in the country by enrollment at 52,586, Texas is 5th at 50,170

Wrong again, Beaver Stadium at Penn State is the largest stadium at 107,282 seats. Neyland Stadium is #4 at 102,037.

Specific number provided by wikipedia.

First Billy, I said I think tx is largest, second I said TN had one of the largest stadiums. Third, if want to nit pic, you should get a better source then wiki. Fourth you know darn well I was talking about D-1A football, not small school so KMA.

Anything else you would like to correct?

Oh and the Pittsburgh SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Steelers are not the best team in their conference, but they do not "suck". That would be the Lions, or the Chiefs.

I inferred that you were talking big schools, but your blanket statement didn't express it clearly, so you were in error.
Yeah, you qualified your TX and TN statements, when all it would have taken was 30 seconds to confirm them. That's all I did. Oh, and both D-Rod's and wiki's info on Neyland Stadium are wrong. UT's website lists its capacity at 104,079, making it #3.

BillyB: I read an article the other day...they're adding capacity...I don't think it's there yet! Regardless, I think it's safe/fair to say the SEC is more popular thanks to it's historically VERY strong teams and location to population centers. If it were not for the State of Texas, there would be hardly any population base in the Big XII conference. No big deal! I just think the SEC will always be ranked better even if they're not because of the fan base.

You might be right about that.

When the addition to Michigan Stadium is completed the capacity will be in the 110,000 area.

And the size of stadiums has nothing to do with quality of teams. It is interesting that one of the top football programs of all time has an enrollment of less than half of the large schools. And the fourth school in the number of NCAA championships has around 20,000 students. And both of them are in Oklahoma.
