Its ok, but I think that someone would be stuck in a smaller cabin making Drinks/snack stuff rather than with the others enjoying themselves. But it might help on those rainy days when you can't stretch out.

I find that little added space to be totally useless. It's a piece that the manufacturer really overcharges for. We have an extension like that in our motorhome and we don't use it. Luckily ours is tucked out of the way ( down against the cabinet) and doesn't take up counter space like this one does when folded.

Do you have a pic looking into the cabin that shows the additional room that it creates? I myself like it when its has a more open feel.

I think a low production of units one. Maybe a motorsailer.

The folding counter extension I could live without. But having the extra widow, in addition to the usual door, is very cool.

Seems pretty cool, but without seeing more OF it, it kinda reminds me of those hinged tin stove covers they put in RV's; nice at first, but pretty soon you'd rather it just not even be there...

It might be on a new boat, but it's not a new idea.

Dorsett (from the 60's) used to have a panel/bulkhead that dropped down into a table or extra counter space.

Starcraft, Crestliner and Fiberform also made use of that idea.

Of course, none of them had such a nicely finished off product as the one in the picture.

Without rubber pads wouldn't it vibrate while underway resting on the fiberglass, or does it not actually touch the surface below?

As thick as it is, it would seem to create a multi leveled counter surface while in the "closed" poistion. That might be more annoying than the extra benefit of having a few more inches of counter space while in its open position.

Yeah, if my boat had to have one, I'd much prefer a piano hinge...
