Was in the neighborhood of where the boat is stored, decided to stop by and check on things.
Noticed that there is oil leaking out from in front of the forward prop down the skeg (drive is raised). Is there a bearing/seal on the shaft that could have worn? Havent hit anything, but last time out wrapped some seaweed around the forward prop at idle speed, and caught it before powering up. Any ideas?

Of course there is a seal. There are actually two propshaft seals on a Bravo 3, cause there are two propshafts. Time to take the props off and see what is leaking.

Actually, there's two oil seals on the inner shaft, and one oil seal/one water seal (I'm pretty sure it's just an oil seal installed backwards) on the outer shaft. I'd guess both of the seals have failed on the outer shaft.

My last boat had a B3 and the seals cut grooves in the shaft.Metallurgy problem required shaft and bearing replacement.
Merc paid. Started leaking at about 70 hours 3rd season. Noticed oil rising to surface around drive when docked.
