My 5 and 3 year old kids were playing with my old Legos when I walked in the door. Immediately, they got excited to see me and started shouting "Daddy, Daddy, look what we are making!"
I looked down and they'd laid out about a dozen 12"x12" flat sheets, each one painted like pavement. One of them went from 2 lanes to three lanes painted like parking spots. The parking spots weren't connected to anything.
Jeremiah, my 5yo, piped up, "Look! These are all the roads and here's the boat launch (indicating the 3 parking spots were lanes on the ramp), and here's the lake (indicating the surrounding carpet)"

You know you have a boating problem when you see it in your kids' play...

When I picked up my 5 year-old from kindergarten today he told me he made a decoration for his locker and wanted to show it to me. We walked over there and on the way I could see a big blue truck with a big blue boat on a trailer drawn on a sheet of paper... I admit I was a little bummed when he said "it's grandpa's boat". But I was quite impressed, regardless. Maybe I'll forgive him for liking grandpa's boat better since he's at least got the nautical mindset.

This is my First Mate making his way to the Helm. He LOVES to go boating. We had him on the water at 2 months and he's been boating for over two years now. I'm truely blessed to have a happy toddler on the water. He's not wearing his vest in this photo because we just changed his diaper and we are anchored. Anyone can ask the Admiral, I'm usually a stickler about him wearing his vest even when walking to the slip.

And this is my First Mate when he finds out we're not going boating. He keeps his life vest with him in the truck. You can barely see it to the left. He wears it without complaint.
