Anybody know about these?

I saw a boat out on the lot of an R.V. dealer on the side of the freeway and went to check on it. It was a 2005, 23 foot NauticStar Deck Boat with a 5.0LMPI/1.47A1 and not a whole lot of extras on it. Fit and finish did not seem all that great to me and it looks like it hadn't been cared for very well. I don't know the hours on it but NADA puts it at about $23k Low Retail. Take off the 10% that NADA is usually over price and another couple grand for the current market that I don't think NADA is up to speed on and you're at $18k - $19k. They were asking $29k.

I just called the guy and told him that he's nuts and in this market he won't get that for it and wished him good luck.

I know a dealer here, he is a used car dealer and picked up their line of boats also. They seem like a good value boat, I have been on the water in thier 19' bay boat CC and it did what I expected, nothing more nothing less. We actually gave one away at work this year for our safety awards, choice of the CC bay boat or deck boat.

From what I have seen of them, I have climbed around on his entire inventory it is a decent boat for the money, pretty well thought out, and they seem pretty solid.

We see a fair number of their CC and bay boats around here. Nice looking boats, seem to be generally well-regarded. I kinda like their DC model:

Plants in Miss. Well made. The primarily market it to the southern coast. You see a bunch of the fishing boats here. One of my co-workers has a 21' deck boat loves it - and no problems with it for 3 yrs now. I probably would have bought one, had I not found the Starcraft.
