The Sea-Doo 230 has such a wide bow that it may as well be considered a deckboat -

To my old back the seats in this Sea-Doo are a better fit than what you get with the Yamaha SX. But the Yamaha fans look down on Sea-Doos as vastly inferior ...

Get a Chevy V-8 and a good pump size mateched up to it. Plently of torque.

According to Boattest the Seadoo 230 Challanger uses 12.5 gph at 28mph while the Yamaha 230sx uses 7.6 gph at 28mph. Quite a difference.

Sounds like you have sold yourself a Yamaha.

My wife loves the swim plaform. I juet don't see ir as "comfortable" for rishing. I guess want a boat that is perfect for everything. You know does about 65mph and uses 4 ghp while carrying a dozen of fat people. Great for skiing and wake boarding. It needs a no service engine that lasts 10k hrs and the boat needs a draft of less then 6" (if I can't see it I can't hit it). Perfect for fishing and entertaining at the same time in heavy seas, and maybe have a nice front cabin with bow seating area for sun! Should I take my meds and see my shrink?

Being serious (hard to do) I understand that all boats are compromises. It is the descision process of prioritizing those compromises that is so hard. The whole family has different uses for the boat that are important to them.

Be as happy as a boater can be. Buy what your wife approved.

Stew,

The Splendor at the Tampa show this weekend...

If you want me to ask detailed questions or take specific pictures - let me know.
I plan to go to the show tomorrow & Sunday.

I am sure they wouldn’t mind.
As mentioned here, the splendor guys are great people.
If the owner isn’t at the show, someone close to top is.

Like the last time we saw Splendor, they bring one boat.
I suppose to display & more importantly “sell”.... saves them pulling it home.

Thanks for the pic. I did not get in until late from the lake and we have no internet there. Did it have a sale price on it?

Thanks
