The back of the top appears to just rest on the deck cover, probably a couple of latches holding it in place. Looks like it could be folded up from the back if need be...
Maybe if it was a white top on a white boat...? As it is, it looks as out of place as a doorknob on a coffin...

I take these comments as a resounding "NO" vote. Not surprising. Companies have tried to make cars that look a lot like boats and they've never gone over well. Even down to adding "headlights" to cars and calling them docking lights. I still see idiots running at night with their "headlights" on.
IMHO the two (cars vs boats) are distinctly different in styling characteristics and should remain that way.

Nope; not practicle. A bimini is the way to go, not a convertible top.
And, GFC, Docking lights are practical if one knows how and when to use them. I agree that running down the lake with them on is stupid; that's why they're called docking lights!

I'd be envious if I were caught in a rain storm and the guy next to me had one, but I personally would rather have a camper canvas. Bet the isinglass on that top wouldn't last three seasons. I also would have added windsheild wipers to that boat to complete the sedan look.

I am looking at doing something like this when I restore my old Newman, but more of a classic look and manually operated. However, it is my intent to use it as a way to run a cooling system in the front cab and maybe a heater for real cold days. That can make a difference is how you would perceive this type of cover. As a way to protect against weather, it would be better than a bimini, but I would not want it as just a cover for docking. Of course, being powered, you could have a remote operator to allow getting in and out.
