With the storm approaching, production has now stopped in some refineries from what I read today.

Do you feel better now Admin? rolleyes

But 2Suns, I am only repeating what the experts tell us when prices of crude oil goes up. And as Dog or Mutt (one of them canines) illustrated with his "carpet price analogy". They all say that the futures price is responsible for the current price. And you say it's not. So which is it? idn

Or is the overiding theme that whenever a storm gets moving, it's okay to raise prices before production slows or stops, and then not lower them until after all production has removed?

Yep, and has anyone assesed the damage to the refineries yet? Kinda funny how the stations that were at $4.29 all weekend, were already down to $4.19 at 7am today, then at 7:45am they were down to $4.05. That shortage of gas suddenly corrected itself before the first truck left this morning?!

Well, the oil companies succeeded in getting rich while putting everyone else in the poorhouse. I can almost picture a couple of good ol' boys setting it all up in the executive bathroom:

"Are we talking about a wager, Randolph?"
wink

Maybe the winner has collected his dollar for winning the bet and we can go back to "only" $2.50 gas now.
