I just wanted to say thank you to the Nashville Boat Club. I just returned from my R&R leave from Afghanistan and the boat club was gracious enough to offer my navy and me a free membership for the time that I was home. What a professional group of guys...Tim, Ed, and Roy.

They put us in a 2007 Bryant 236 loaded with all the goodies, and at one point I had 10 people on the boat. What a great ride and a FANTASTIC time was had by all of us at J. Percy Priest Reservoir.

I'm now sold on the boat club idea. You still have the monthly payment for a boat (dues), but you also get your choice of boats from a 20' Tige wakeboard boat, pontoon boats, deck boats, or a fishing boat. I think if we decide to stay in the Ft. Campbell area, we will probably join this wonderful organization.

On a side note...I have an opportunity to move to the Columbus, Georgia area for my next assignment. I know Lake Eufala is within an hour or 2 drive, but is there anyone out there with any knowledge of other boating locations closer than that? I appreciate all the input from the entire network of boaters on this site.

Glad they took care of a service member.

West Point is about an hour north of Columbus. Lake Martin in Alabama is about 1.5-2 hours west of Columbus. Hotbyte and I have been on West Point many times. I've heard good things about Martin. I believe Eufala is kind of split up, where one half is more suitable for fishing and the other half is better for water sports.

And many thanks for your service Blackhawk Pilot bow usa3

BTW, I know a few people who enjoy boat clubs.
As you mention, the multiple choices of boats is a big attractor.
