Not is much heard about Bryant Boats on this forum. I looked at one before buying mine, but they are pricey... up there with Cobalt.

Anybody got anything to say about them? I am not in the market but just wondering why not much is said about them on this site and what people in the know (not me!) have to say about them.

I'm sure a fan of those huge ESP's.

Never see them around here either. Guessing dealer network is small. Never heard a bad word about their quality.

They are usually the 3rd or fourth from the top on recommended runabouts on this board. Been talked about for years here, several members own them, and love them. They deserve there place near the top.

As a matter of fact, Joe might still be a registered member here at BABC, as he has answered specific questions about his boats and company several times.

I know he responds to ALL emails very quickly. (I accidently sent a joke to him years ago. Good thing he liked it!)

I know that I've seen posts about Bryant in the past, but haven't seen so much lately.

Scarcity maybe? I believe somebody said they only produce 500 boats a year.

Maybe they're of such good quality that nobody needs advice about repairs or wants to sell one?

My son's best friends family bought one a couple years ago and I had the pleasure of driving it towing the father water skiing.
Very Very nice boat . Fit and finish was top notch, clean wire runs, solid hardware, carpeting and vinyl felt heavy duty and should last a long time. Love the idea of the custom manufactured fuel tank that sits under the bow area to help in weight transfer getting up on plane.
IIRC they bought a 214 with a 5.7L single prop Merc.
Good solid ride, cut the waves well, nice wake for Charlie (the owner). Not quite the acceleration as my V-drive (no surprise there) my preference would have been a duo-prop (Bravo3?). Held speed well. While I would out accelerate him he could easily outrun me on plane.
Bryant is definitely on my short list of boats I'd own and I always stop to look at them during the boat shows.

My first boat was a Bryant 196. Great boat, great company, fantastic personalized customer service.

When we were ready to upgrade their bigger models weren't quite ready yet so we made the move over to Cobalt.

Oddly enough we saw what looked like a new Bryant on the lake this weekend. It was running the opposite direction and as they passed both the wife and I craned our necks around and said, almost in unison, "Is that a new Bryant?"

Bryant owners seem to love the brand and be very loyal.

I awaited the introduction of the 270BR a few years ago, as it was to offer a nice layout, high freeboard and a wide beam. Unfortunately, the boat did not meet my expectations and I did not care for the ride of the 270 (others might be better). The ride was very sluggish and non-responsive.

There were numerous design flaws in the 270, but they did build a nice wood-free boat and use nice (not great) materials. Layup on the one I drove was terrible... waves and dimples down the side of the boat (easy to see with a black hull-side).

I put them in the range of a Regal or Four Winns (which is above average in my book).

Dealer network was an issue here when I bought my boat or I'd own one now. I saw them at the boat show here last year and was very impressed
