That is really nice. I like all the exposed wood and battens.

Looks good now, but I worrry about how hard it is to clean/varnish in all those tiny spots.

I'd have to say it's a second steering wheel. You can see steering cable just above its drum, and I';d guess that cable wraps around the drum a couplke of times. Maybe used for trolling???

One to run with and one for spare parts when you need 'em.

Maybe the drum thingy is "power" trim/tilt

What a classic seabuddy!
I am guessing the twins are aftermarket?

When did counter-rotating props become consideration?
That old boat might pull a little hard to one side.
Maybe that is what the little wheel is for on the starboard side?

Looks like a Thompson.

Small twins (usually around 35 hp) were fairly common back in the 50's and 60's.

Heck, I've even seen quite a few small (17' or so) Whaler's with twins on them.

These days, you might see small twins on C-Dory's and Arima's.

If that is a second steering wheel, then there's FOUR ways to steer the thing since those OB's both gots tillers on 'em!

I like how 'Rude proudly displays that they're "Electric Starting". Reminds me of TV shows aways back that used to proclaim "In COLOR!"

wink
