I've been out nearly every weekend. 100 hours and counting for this year.

my daughters are turning 13 so i took them and a few friends out yesterday for a boating birthday party. there were seven 13 year-old girls on board and i still have a headache. i can't count the number of times one of them screamed "there are BOYS on that boat" or the amount of times i replied "that's why you're on THIS boat".

here are the girls hanging out.

and even though we have the worst possible boat for tubing (except perhaps a sailboat), one of my daughters and a friend managed to catch some air.

C4W, the big pond is rare. Usually only a few times a year, as the admiral doens't like big water. We launched at Hammond and had some fun skipping over the top of the waves. Did a quick tour down the river during the intermission for the bands.

Second mate and I made it out Saturday. It was another for this years typical weather pattern. The same storm that Dave had pictures of hit our end of the lake right after I put the burgers on the grill. Rain I can deal with. Lightning bolts, not so much. We were off the lake early. We went back out on Sunday. Weather wise, it was one of the best days this year.

Doggg, great pics of the little guy.

Bruce, 7?!! You should get some kind of reward.

Spent weekend at West Point Lake. The four of us, daughter's boyfriend and my grand-nephew (2nd grader that idolizes my son) camped Fri night. My mom, 2 sisters and families came over for day on Sat. We tubed them in shifts all afternoon and grilled burgers & hotdogs to close the day. We stayed over Sat night and spent several more hours on water Sunday. Got home about 8pm and we ALL were dead tired! If you measure the fun from a weekend of boating on how tired you are Sunday night we had a blast!!! laugh laugh laugh

We went out for a quick afternoon run to the swimmin' hole this past w/e. The Delta was fairly busy. Upper 80's to low 90's.

We're taking the boat and RV up to Lake Berryessa this upcoming w/e.

We always keep an eye open for the Zodiac when we're there. hehe

funny

Saturday night GW and I went to a concert on the island where we keep our boat. The Kingsmen (LOUIE LOUIE) were playing and it was a blast. Afterwards we went to a private party at the brewery where we hang out after boating, then spent the night on the boat.

Some friend were coming down the Snake on Sunday and we went up the Snake to meet them at a park. GW was still asleep but I pulled out of the slip about 8:00. Right after leaving the slip I went under this bridge...

Then about 1/4 mile later passed under this railroad bridge...

It looks like it's closer than it really is. I clear the center span by about three feet...

Here's a wake shot as I was leaving those two bridges astern...

Here's another railroad bridge that's about 1/2 mile up the Snake River...

and another highway bridge...

where I almost had a close encounter with this tug. He was coming out from shore and had to cut it real tight to avoid cutting me off..

On the way up the Snake to the lock I passed this "Go Slow Be Quiet" boat. We had a chance to talk with them and found they were from Vancouver, WA. The skipper was about 80+ years old. He and his daughter had trailered the boat from Vancouver to our area and were headed 150 miles up the Snake to Lewiston, Id. That's going to be a loooong trip in this 6-kt WWII boat...

About this time I woke GW up and she took the helm as we got close to the lock.

We had to wait for this tug and his three barges to leave the lock, then we went in...
