I am sure this is more marketing driven than what the Blog purports itself to be about, but it should still prove interesting for anyone with an interest in the next version of Windows.

Link to official MS Windows 7 blog.

http://blogs.msdn.com/e7/archive/2008/08/14/welcome.aspx

To date, MS has been a bit mum about Win 7. We shall see what they choose to divulge.

Just passing this along. I am neither a MS "Fan Boy" nor a reason-devoid MS hater. wink

Everything can be improved, but I have to say that I have been pleasantly surprised at how friendly Vista has been for me over the last week or so with my new laptop.

All of my older programs have loaded and run without issue so far.

I was prepared to get a new hard drive and a copy of XP, but scrapped that plan when everything worked as well as it did.

Of course, since I got one of the first releases of Win98 and it crashed my pc, I have waited for a while before jumping onto the next platform.

Mike,

Yep. Like I said, I expect there to be a lot of MS marketing type speak.

Of note is who the two co-authors are.

Both VPs, Steven Sinofsky runs the Windows and Windows Live Engineering Group, and Jon DeVaanin is head of the Windows Core Operating System Division.

But I expect that the marketing folks will be writing (or vetting) a lot of the entries.

I also expect a lot of "Fan Boy" comments. They will likely edit out flames fast.

I happen to think many MS bashers just do it b/c it's the "cool" thing to do. Microsoft doesn't run the business world b/c their products are junk. I've been so happy with my new Vista notebook that I just bought my wife a new Lenovo with Vista. Both have worked flawlessly. My only issue was that telnet isn't installed by default.

I love Vista so much I bought a boat to match smile

I like Vista a lot better since I turned off the user-control thing. But I don't really "do" much with my computers. If this thing was a washing machine, my use would amount to filling the thing with water and spin it out!

Windooozzz is the only OS that I use. But it's not because I'm a MS fanboy, it's because Win has the widest selection of apps. Windows became reasonably stable with Win95b. With each new release since then the main improvement has been a better selection of wallpaper.

Remember the old MS tag line, "Where do you want to go today?" Translated into Japanese it's "Tell us where you want to go today and we'll make sure you get taken."

Yeah, I didn't waste my time wink . It's always amazed me that they seem to think everyone believes the marketing hype. Oh wait...
