Since I brought up the fact that the Tesla is built on a Lotus chassis, I should probably point out that I am somewhat biased towards anything Lotus. Here's my other baby:











It's a 2001 Lotus Esprit V8, one of only 92 made in '01. It's actually in the shop right now for the 24,000 mile service, which requires the engine come out.




And here's a shot from a party that our car club had. If you look closely, you note that although I didn't bring the Lotus, I still showed up with the most horsepower

Hmmm. w/ engine bay designed for a turbo 4, I guess it makes for expensive servicing with the 8.

As far as expensive... let's just say that the car has been in the shop for almost two months. Most of that is because I chose to make some upgrades, but it still aint cheap pulling the motor every 24K.
