Volvo Trim Tab kit

The QL Boat Trim System is a revolutionary patented system that uses vertical interceptor
blades rather than the conventional plates. Thanks to the water intercept
technology you get a smoother ride and more quickly onto the plane. The innovative
design is made of compo site material…easy to install, corrosion free and
virtually no maintenance is required.

… Water-force on the small blade surface creates upward pressure on the hull
bottom, thereby raising the stern and lowering the bow.

…Traditional trim system. Water-force on a large trim tab surface
creates upward pressure. Traditional trim tabs stick out from the
hull and are therefore more vulnerable and exposed to damage.

Easy installation

With its small dimensions, the QL interceptor units are easily mounted. The only affect on the hull is a small hole for the electrical connection….

…Built-in trim indication and automatic retraction

The QL Boat Trim System with built
in trim sensor, is easily operated from
the push button control panel with its
distinct trim indication (LED). Thanks to
the digital technology, the trim indicators
show the precise position of port
and starboard units. The control panel
has the following functions; bow down
and bow up, list starboard and list port.

To reduce the risk of damage and minimise marine growth, the blades are automatically retracted at engine shut off.

Low maintenance

The QL Boat Trim System is made of
composite material and all electrical
parts are “sealed for life”. It is virtually
corrosion free and will not cause any
galvanic corrosion. This means there
is very little maintenance compared
to conventional hydraulic trim tab
systems.

• Easy, safe and exact manoeuvring.

• Quick response.

• Built in trim sensor.
• Control panel with LEDs for precise
trim indication.

• Automatic retraction

• Electrical actuator, no hydraulics needed.

• Electric components are
“sealed for life”.

• Composite material, no corrosion.

• Quick and easy to install.

• Small dimensions, light weight.

• Ideal for outboard, inboard, I/O
and Volvo Penta IPS (Inboard
Performance System) and also for
waterjet installations.

• Complies with CE and ABYC
Requirements

The QL Boat Trim System with built in trim sensor, is easily operated from the push button control panel with its distinct trim indication (LED). The control panel has the following functions; bow down and bow up, list starboard, list port

This wording/spelling with some edits by Seabuddy is almost all from Volvo parts. My photos.

Works with any boat/motor/trailer until the boat gets to big for this kit. The make another kit for bigger boats.

• Automatic retraction

So there needs to be room inside the hull at the stern?

Do you slot a big hole in the stern on each side to install it?

deep, it retracts into it's own body.

HERE'S A SITE that shows it pretty well.

The Blades retract inside itself, outside the transom. The housing remains. Its about, say, 2", from the transom to its outside edge.

Think of a deck of playing cards in their box, but thinner so some thick blades replace the playing cards in the box. A blade projects down to work as a trim tab per your command; retracts back into the box per your command and also when you turn the engine off.
