Hi everyone,
I'm trying to copy 2 chapters of a DVD onto the computer so I can upload them to You Tube so you all can See LLBS play in Nationals. laugh Problem: I can't do it!!
I seriously need some help here.
The DVD is a DVD that was made by Inkleys (RixPix). I have tried the copy function on the computer to try and attempt to copy the files to the hard drive. No luck.
What am I doing wrong, or rather what SHOULD I be doing??
Thanks,
LBS (Not too computer smart with this kinda thing...)

You'll probably have to pull (rip) the DVD to your harddrive first, which should yield VOB files (DVD video files).

What tools (apps) do you have?

Nero? Roxio?, any other tools that might have come with your computer/DVD R drive?

I love this product

http://www.dvdfab.com/dvd-fab-platinum.htm

Very easy to use and easy to customize. You can rip to many formats, remove chapters, subtitles, foreign languages, etc. I used it to rip my 300+ dvd collection to my home theater PC I built.

kenhdog,
That's what I've been trying to do is rip the DVD to the hard drive and it's not working.
I have Windows Movie maker and Windows Media player on the computer. I have Roxio on my laptop and that was HORRIBLE. I tried to make a DVD with only two chapters on it and it only burned (ripped) 10 secs of each chapter to the computer. So I have been trying with these programs on the "family" computer.

There's a free version of DVD Fab on the same site that Chicago4W posted above that will work to rip the files from DVD in file/folder structures.

Then we'll have to see which program you might have that will read the VOB files and convert them to something that can play over the internet.

Maybe Roxio might do it in create a movie mode (if it has something like that), or another freebe called SUPER that converts almost anything to anything else.

Once out of VOB and into AVI, MPG or WMV, you can then upload it to YouTube. (I think YouTupe clips are only limited to 5 or so minutes or something...)

This one might do both Rip and recode: Auto Gordian Knot ("AutoGK"), if I remember correctly. It is a freebe.

A good site for help, tools and tutorials is videohelp.com
