Some of you will remember THIS THREAD where I moved a tree to make way for some concrete work. Well, now giving a little progress report.

I know this is going slow, we don't move fast and we surely do not work on it EVERY weekend. smile

Here's the yard after grass was removed and as we prepared to move the tree.

Here the concrete has been poured and the wall was started.
The new concrete is the slab on far right over 12' wide, the slab starting at the front door pathway to the front sidewalk, and the parkway on street side of sidewalk.

Another view showing how wide our driveway is now and the parkway.

Looking from opposite direction. You can see we left a little planter space in front of the wall.

Havn't got to the main sprinkler system yet, but I've been working on turning one of the lines into a drip system.

And last weekend my wife and daughter just added the greenery.
Since these pictures, I've burried the drip line.

Man that looks just great. You're going to love having all that more room to park stuff! Can't wait now to see the finished products.

Still got a lot of work to do, so I'll probably give another progress report in another 6 or 8 months.

All of this is Planning on the fly. We go back and forth on so many things. Like what wall caps to use. As the wall was being built we were still trying to decide on how high we wanted it.

This week I'm gonna get an estimate on the sod and sprinkler system. Still trying to decide what I will do myself or if it will be better to pay someone to do all or part of it.

THEN comes the area down the side of the house. we havn't touched that yet.

BTW, I'm still not even 100% sure if I'll be able back the boat onto the slab. I'm gonna need to back up over the curb (will lay some type of ramp down) and over the grass, and HOPEFULLY will be able to clear the wall with the trailer and drive. idn

But I'm pretty good at backing trailers, so I'm betting on ME !
Will let you know when I get to bring the boat home.

HF,
How much trouble you going to get in when you put the boat on that pad with that fire plug right there?aint there a law about
access to the fire plug?

I believe the law is access from the street side. Not sure how much, if any, clearance is required on personal property (past the city sidewalk).
Either way, the boat parked would be a good 15ft or more away from the hydrant. I doubt I'll have any trouble with it.
