Now that I've got my GPS, I really want to pick up a card for lake charts. I've been looking at Lakemaster Pro, which covers Michigan specifically, and Navionics Hotmaps, which for a bit more money, covers a LOT more lakes. Anyone use either and can give advice? I'm just about to sit down and go through which lakes are covered on each card to see who covers lakes I use more often the best, but I'm curious if anyone has any thoughts.

casualboater: I have the Lowrance XOG (which from the other thread I think you have) and I have the Lakemaster Pro chip for my area. I have been happy with the chip. It provides all of the lakes that I boat on plus many more, good detail contours, locations of boat ramps, channel markers etc. When I purchased the chip (bought at Cabelas retail store), they put it in the XOG at the store for me to see and use. This chip was highly recommended by them (and fisherman that do not work for them). I was happy with it and so I bought it. Maybe you can visit your local store, see what they have for chips, and make your decision from there?
