Has anyone seen or received any information on the new Cobalt 276?

My dealer/marina had a "White Tie" event to preview the boat, but I missed it and will not get back to the dealer soon.

Nothing on the Cobalt site or in a web search.

I was just on one at the Racine In-water Boat Show. It is very nice! Like the other recent releases from Cobalt, they increased the freeboard and now have a real head area and plenty of storage. The swim plaform is more angular, rather than rounded with stainless steel tubes.

I did not care the for profile of the boat as much, but the added freeboard does add a lot of functionality. They had no brochures on the boat, but the spec sheet said 5500 pounds, 8'6" wide and 100 gallons of gas. It did have a windless, garbage can, several lockable stowage areas, and lots high-quality materials and rigging.

Sorry... no camera with me.

Is the 276 a bow rider or a cuddy?

Bow rider. Not sure if a closed bow version will follow.

Boomer,

Did the boat have the newer style flat windshield or the traditional rounded type ??

It's flat but has more radius/curve than some flat models.

D-rod is correct. I would call it flat (compared to Formula's windshield), but does have a small radius. I really prefer the curved look.

Layout is similar to the 272, but the 276 had a flipping seat (face forward or back) in the passenger side (port) that runs then entire length of the port side, and a 1.5 bench seat for the driver. Behind the driver seat was two small lockable compartments and then the same little jump seat. The transom is a bit more angular (edgy??) than the 272. Head area is longer and deeper with a small sink. Dash layout has changed as well and has room for a GPS (maybe an option).

I am sure pics will be on Cobalt's site soon.
