I guess sufficient time has gone by to keep our viewers intrigued! wink

At the raftup on Saturday, my first mate took this picture of dragonflies on OHFM's foot.

Since there are so many photos of the raftup, I will skip ours. At the end of the day, On Holiday, GripB and Waywego headed back for dinner. Since we were in the middle of the raftup, it took a little reorganization.

Cobalt24SX and crew during the shuffle.

Following On Holiday and GripB out of the no wake zone.

On the way back to the resort, my admiral took a picture of On Holiday and family. Troop could give her a few lessons -- I think she meant to get the whole boat in the frame! funny

On Sunday our family decided to spend some quiet time together, so we anchored in a relatively calm inlet.

We often use our Super Mable as a sunpad. Here I am with both mates and our puppy.

You can tell it was a dog day afternoon by this picture of my first mate and two of our dogs.

One of our toy poodles, Pollo, is a true boater. As soon as I get out any of our gear, he goes wild. On the boat, he can usually be found right at the bow with my first mate. I believe he thinks he is the admiral! d

Our dogs all wear PFD's on the boat -- getting them back onboard is one of the main reasons.

At the end of the day, we got in some tubing and I even got the chance to ski on glass smooth water. With both my admiral and first mate having limited experience operating the boat and spotting, not many pictures were taken. My second mate and I are getting ready for an exciting 15 minute ride up the lake. There were a few times that big wakes made the ride scary for her, but she braved it out all the way back to the resort! thumb

That wouldn't be a good representation of an otherwise great breed of a dog.

Really nice pix. full boat or not.. Looks like you folks were the only ones on the lake. If that were here, you'd see all kinds of things in the background whizzing by...Sure looks like a nice place to go..

Actually we were in a cove a few hundred yards into a no wake zone. The hour or so cruise from the resort to the cove we encountered some boats but it wasn't too bad.

GripB....
Hi I am new here. I found this site as I was goggling about Raystown Lake Resort. We are new to boating and have been to Raystown a couple times between last year and this year. (This year as owners of our own boat....love it)
I am planning to stay at the Resort next year for a week while friends of ours are also there. I am interested in staying in the Park Cottages and read somewhere on here that you had reserve done. Did you enjoy staying in the cottage? Was it roomy enough? I am sharing with another family, so there would be 2 couples and 3 kids in there????? The loft I read is small as far as ceiling height, but is there room enough for one couple to sleep up there and setup a pack-n-play or not??? Do youhappent o have any interior pics?? They are impossible to find online.
Thanks
Chrissy
PS: I see we are neighbors......I am right in Narvon

Welcome RN, I am in the Lancaster area.

As far as the cottage, Grip showed me their digs. I would say no to the PNP able to be in the loft with the low ceiling height. I would say you better be close to your friends to spend a week with them in a single wide. You may want want to try the Villas (the ones that are $300/ night) split amoungst another couple, you are right there in price with the "single wides" (not sure on the exact naming).

Keep coming back and sometime a "Raystown Lake 2009" thread will be posted.

I booked it today. I am sharing it with my sister so I am not worried about that. She can have the pull out sofa and the kids can sleep up stairs if its too small up there for her.
I'd love to see pics though.

Are the villas the beach front bungalow things all togetehr??? I opted not to go that route just b/c they are so close and no woods....wanted a lil bit of a camping feel too.

The bungalows are the beach front. the villas are in a wooded section. While enjoying a campfire with the others at the villas, we got removed by the friendly skunk wandering by.

I would say to avoid the cabins as the A/C is not very efficient in cooling.

RN7997,

Small world neighbor...welcome to BABC smile ! Sorry for the late response/reply.

I'll add a bit to what On Holiday mentioned. The bungalows are beach front, but are very rustic, including wooden bunk beds and as OH mentioned, the A/C has much to be desired. Wasn't an option for us.

The villas are nice, spacious and close to the water, but were more than what we needed as a small family of four.

The Oak Park Cottages have a sunken bedroom with a full size bed, the family room has two pull-out couches (full size) and the loft has a full size mattress and a low sloped ceiling which is perfect for kids, but is too small for adults (or a Pack-n-Play frown ). It has a small full kitchen, table, A/C and two TV's with cable. Our daughter slept in the loft, our son on a pull-out sofa and my wife and I had the bedroom. It has parking for two, is in a wooded area, has a fire pit, deck and a nice view. It was fine for us, but if there were more people (another couple, etc.), I'd consider renting/spliting the rental cost of a Villa.

Let us know if you have any other questions and keep your eye on this forum for the 2009 BABC event @ Raystown.

BTW - where are you boating other than Raystown? Chesapeake perhaps? We boat on either the Bohemia River or Sassafras River every weekend.
