Cobalt Boats, a manufacturer of world-class stern drive boats, is searching for an experienced naval architect to join our product development team. This position will play a key technical and leadership role in our company’s new product strategy.

We are looking for someone with a demonstrated balance between engineering design and practical application of the technical aspects of boat design and engineering. Below are some key competencies that will position this person well for success on our team:

- Excellent project management skills: we strive for a team-project environment and look for strong project leadership both in terms of technical competency and interpersonal team leadership.
- Systems design and engineering (mechanical, electrical, plumbing)
- Structural design (lamination schedules, structural layout)
- Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player
- Excellent verbal, written, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively resolve problems or issues in a timely manner by using judgment that is consistent with the Cobalt’s standards, practices and policies
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization

We are searching for someone who is passionate about design, recognizes the requirements of a production environment on a boat’s engineering elements, and will see a project through to its successful completion. This position will be located at our office in Neodesha, KS, and will report to the Director of Product Development.

In return for expertise and passion for new product design and engineering, Cobalt offers a key position of leadership and influence in our new product. Cobalt is a privately owned company that believes strongly in high quality boats, family values, and rewarding relationships. Cobalt also offers a competitive salary, including health and 401(k) benefits.

Cobalt Boats is based in Neodesha, Kansas, and employs approximately 500 Associates. For more information about Cobalt Boats, please visit www.cobaltboats.com. Resume and salary requirements may be submitted confidentially via email to Brian Holmes, Director, Human Resources, at brianh@cobaltboats.com.
