If you don't know, Peoria, IL has a population of 115,000. Total area population (East Peoria, Morton, Washington, Pekin, Peoria Heights) is right around 250,000. So a decent sized place, but definately small in comparision to some real cities.

So I ask, has the President of the United States ever come to your town twice in 18 months? grin I wonder if that makes Peoria his most popular destination, after Crawford?? funny

(If Air Force One flies right over my house again, I'll try to get better photos than the last time. I put my wife on watch, as i will not be home. We have a better camera now, but not Troop levels. If he was here, he would have had the pilots' faces in view last time!)

Bush has visited my town numerous times, so much that it hurts the police department's budget. AF-1 flew into the airport which typically services small commuter planes. The pilot would put the brakes on before they even touch ground.

The closest I got to him was watching him go by in tour bus while I was standing on the shoulder of the road.

We don't get many visitations in this state. it is already won for one side, and a complete loss for the other.

C'mon CM, he's just trying to equate to the "little man."...

"I know how hard it is for you to put food on your family." —Greater Nashua, N.H., Jan. 27, 2000

And also those in the medical profession...

"Too many good docs are getting out of the business. Too many OB--GYNs aren't able to practice their love with women all across this country." --Poplar Bluff, Mo., Sept. 6, 2004

Or to reiterate his position on the Iraqi's like he did in '03...

"The ambassador and the general were briefing me on the ---- the vast majority of Iraqis want to live in a peaceful, free world. And we will find these people and we will bring them to justice." --Washington, D.C., Oct. 27, 2003.

Or explain his admistration's position on ...

"There's no doubt in my mind that we should allow the world worst leaders to hold America hostage, to threaten our peace, to threaten our friends and allies with the world's worst weapons." --South Bend, Indiana, Sept. 5, 2002.

So Cigar Man, I am guessing that no President has ever come to your town?

On Holiday, what town are you in/near? Is it bigger or smaller than Peoria? And how many times has the President actually been there?

See Mutt, I am not even talking about campaign stops, really. Although this one today was for a congressional candidate. But neither stop has been for President Bush as a candidate himself. (obviously both visits have been in his second term)

The have all been here at one time or another, I believe Dubba was just here not that long ago. I went to the lake that day to avoid the Blackwater covert ops detail that was out to drill holes in the bottom of my boat no doubt. eek

I don't think 'Black Eye' McCain has ever been here, even though he lives in AZ. Green Chili would probably kill him (now I've done it - putting all those ominus words in one post about pretty much nuthin'..... hey - who's that guy sneeking around by the juniper bushes....... pirate)

So you live in a big town? Surely not a town as small as Peoria, right?

I am in Albuquerque, the place famous for Bugs Bunny making a wrong turn in the 50's (and of course Tequila and green chili and sun tanned hotties).

Okay, an out of the way place for sure, but at over 500k in your city and 835k metro area, more than twice as big as Peoria area. (Wiki says 366k, but that includes 2 northern counties that I would say are not part of the Peoria area at all.)
Not the same scale of visits per person.

What do they do when they come to Albuquerque?
