Time for the annual trip to Sleeping Bear Dunes. If history is any guide I'll have several days when it will be too windy for boating. I will have my golf clubs, but want to look into going 4 wheeling. I know lots of hiking trails in the area, but nothing about where to get stuck in the mud. Any ideas?

most of the area around the Sleeping Bear Dunes is National Forest Land so 4 wheeling in that area is pretty limited, but...Just south by an hour or so is Silver Lake and you can do all the 4 wheelin you can handle. Mud is pretty much nonexisting in those parts. Sand is the norm and plenty of it to get stuck in.

If you google Silver Lake Sand Dunes you will have alla kinds of stuff to look at.

If you look east of there, around Kalkaska, lot's of ORV trails there. Not too far away.
