Well, I thought I would give you an update. The surgery never happened. Just before they were to go in, they cancelled it. The lung cancer is level IV. They are giving her radiation to shrink it, but sent her home. They gave her six months at most.
My boss had his last day today. His replacement will not start until the 11th. Yesterday, we threw our boss a big BBQ and gave him a rocking chair with his name on it. It has been chaos these past couple of days. I got a phone call yesterday right after I came in. A county crew said they hit our raw water line. Luckily, it turned out to be a vent and we were able to shut it off. Today, my mechanic and I were taking a large shaft to Ponca City to be rebuilt. On the way back, there was a real nasty accident near my house. And then when we hit the north end of campus, my mechanic noticed water bubbling out of the ground in the ditch. One of our 8" lines blew out. 3:00 PM on Friday. I think the line crew is hating me right now. On a good note, the campus opened a main thoroughfare that had been closed for three years for the stadium overhaul. That and the city finally fixed a signal light at a main intersection north of it. A house mover knocked it over two months ago, and it took them this long to replace it. The should have the entries to the new bus terminal finished within the next two weeks and we can go back to just normal traffic chaos.
