You and I are on the same page TimBob. I'd have a hard time springing for the big bucks for a new boat, even at the big discounts being given, knowing that it's going to depreciate like a rock in the first three years.
The big discounts on the new boat prices is having the same effect on used boat prices. As the new ones come down it forces the 1-2 year old boats down by about the same amount. That forces the 3-4 year old boat prices down, and the ripple effect goes on and on.
The next year or so might be a good time to be a buyer if you're in the position to do it. It will be interesting to see what the discounts are at the winter boat shows.
SB, correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the dealers ordering fewer new model boats for their inventories, relying on placing more and more special orders as customers want their boats equipped a certain way?
