Being the only houseboat on the lake, and living here, we're known to every park ranger and fish & game person who would ever pull us over. Several of them have been aboard just to check out the place, but none have done any sort of 'inspecting'. We drove the thing a year and half before I got registration numbers & stickers, they'd just drive by and wave! I doubt I'd ever have to buy a fishing license to fish from the boat (but we have our licenses).

We've been approached twice by rangers on PWC's. They stop to talk, an borrow cigarettes from the wife! We ASK them to come aboard, they decline, they 'have to get back to work'...
wink
While we'll never know what it's like to be 'Brangelina', it IS cool getting a LITTLE special treatment!

Two 225's can't touch this boat. If the blue light comes on, I'm stopping!

I snapped this at the marina a few weeks ago when the CG stopped for ice cream.

a few years ago i had an exhaust hose split and my engine overheated. we were taking on water, but the bilge pump was cycling and keeping up nicely. i put out a radio call to tow boat u.s. and while we waited for them to arrive a cg boat like the one nauti pictured above pulled up. i explained the situation to them and they came aboard with a repair kit and spent the next 15 mins wrapping the exhaust hose in something or other to stop the leak. needless to say, i was very impressed. when the guy finally climbed out of the engine room, he said "as long as we're here, do you mind if we do a safety inspection?" it wasn't really a question and i passed without any issues. next time i''m having problem catching fish, maybe i'll give 'em a call.

We're already crossing the border...armed with a Canadian dollar at parity and invading your stores near you.

But that oil cutting idea is good too D-Rod. Having an extra 175 billion barrels of oil with the tar sands in Alberta makes our oil reserves 2nd only To Saudi Arabia. Being your biggest importer of oil I say don't be surprise to have to push the big trucks/SUV around. mouhahaha!

I had the boat out again last night, for probably 3-3.5 hours. Didn't see 1 Coast Guard boat, probably because it was a little rougher yesterday.

Our coasties have a 50 cal on the bow. When my wife saw it, she asked if it was real wink

I told her we live near DC, one of the top terrorist targets... gunner

Most of the boardings in DC waters are by the DC Metro Police. So far, we have never been boarded, but we stay legal, so it should be no problem.
