A boat this size and age I would be scared of things breaking left and right.

one of several from that same size/era that we're considering.
If a person is looking at a used boat that's more than a few thousand bucks, you should ALWAYS have a survey done. That removes the questions about the condition of the boat and the systems aboard.
Sure, things can go wrong with any boat, but when you're buying it at 60%-75% off the price of a new boat you can afford to fix a few things.
If I were looking for that style boat I wouldn't hesitate to look at a boat that age.
