Quit raining here about 1:30pm. Sun looks like it wants to poke out. Maybe good enough for a late afternoon cruise.

We drove up to Muskegon for awhile (we're about 6 miles south), and there were bikes everywhere.

BR family and WD family headed out about 1 pm. Spent a few hours anchored on the beach in Lake Michigan. Then headed to the state park on Muskegon Lake to say hello to Gator. Did not become sunny until about 6:30 pm when we were already off the water. But we had a good time and it was great to get the hull wet.

Walked downtown with BR an CM for dinner. Our son, 17 months was a trooper. Loved the boat and the beach. We did not leave Muskegon until 8:45, he fell asleep on our way home.

I am sure BR and I will have a few pictures that we will share.

We had great time. Glad we didn't chicken out due to the weather! Would have been a real bummer if we had not gone out. We only had a few sprinkles. WD's boy is such a good boy! Never really fussed and loves the sand. The life jacket never really bothered him and loved putting his hands up cruising fast in the boat.

The bike fest was a hit! Have not heard the numbers but last year approx. 20,000 bikes and this year was said to have been bigger! Many works of art! Amazing what people can do to these things! The band at the beer tent we listened to is a local favorite all girl band. They were very good and nice to look at! grin Headed home around 12:30am.

Back here at home was another story! Rained most of the day and again last night and more for today! Our pool is up an inch or better and the bird bath is full again! Glad we were 1.5 hrs north yesterday.
I'll get pics up soon.

Thanks WD and CM, for the great time.

BR...thanks for the compliments on Cam...he is a pretty laid back little boy at times and I think he is really going to enjoy boating.

Here are a few shots:

Anchored out on Lake Michigan

Son (sleeping), wife and myself

Son (Cam) eating sand sick

Son and wife playing in the sand

Already getting ready to take over the QB position at Michigan grin

Thanks WD and family and BR and his admiral for making the trip up to visit. It was a great time and I hope you enjoyed Bike Time too.

Despite scattered rain and cloudy skies that were present much of the weekend, festival officials estimated the three day festival's turnout was 90,000, up from the previous year's total of 60,000.

Hard to estimate the total number of bikes that were there, but it was twice as many as last year.
This is the first day, Friday, at about 2:30 p.m. as bikes were just arriving.

And 2 hours later at about 4:30 p.m.

Looking forward to seeing some of the pictures that BR took of the bikes.

I don't know the official title, but Miss Muskegon Biker Chick or something like that from last year works with me. I understand she was at the parade this year on a bike.
