Anyone have experiences camping at the other campgrounds on the lake. Last year when we headed up towards the [censored], there was a campground on the left hand side (possibly 7 points?). We'll be tent camping once again.

There's a couple I know about - Nancy's and Seven Points, both on the left as you're going from the resort toowards the dam. Seven Points is pretty big, and we've stayed there often. Fairly clean, but not a lot to do - no pool, waterpark, etc. Nancy's is accessible by boat only, and I've never stayed there.
I think there's one a bit further up from Seven Points called Susquehannock, but I'm not sure. I think all three are part of the Army Corps of Engineers.

We use to stay at 7-Points when we were camping. Like Bob said there is no pool or anything there. It is a very nice campgrounds. All the campgrounds are run by the Army Corps. Except the Resort. The 7-Points campgrounds I think are cheaper then the Resort.

The resort is around $38 and 7 points is $23. The only problem is the Friday and Saturday evening hang out at the docks, it would be a dark boat ride home in unfamilar waters.

I've done the nighttime ride back from the resort to Seven Points, and it's pretty easy, as long as you have a GPS track to follow. The water is very deep and usually clean, so you don't have to worr about shoals or dead heads too much. It's really cool cruising Raystown at night with a little moonlight! I made it back from the Memorial Day fireworks last year doing about 15-20 MPH (just enough to keep 'er on plane) in about 30 or 40 minutes.
Just checked moon phases for 2008, and August 1st is a new moon, so it'll be pretty dark.
Ok, we are in. I just made reservations for Aug 1-3. We're staying at the resort again at wooded campsite 193. I was trying to get a site at 7 springs, as it is cheaper, but they were booked for that weekend.
If you look at the below picture, the site is across from the word "Hickory" on the right hand side of the road. It isn't too far from the showers/ bathhouse which makes for a short walk at 3 AM.

I'm in and now have to see if we're getting a Villa again with friends or a lodge room. No tents for us until the little man gets a little older he's going on 20 months now. Looking forward to many weekends at Raystown.

Cobalt, my little guy will be 9 months old by then. Thankfully he wont be walking but he probably will be crawling. He will be about the same age as your son was last year at that time. We'll be looking forward to the raft up and the swimming once again.
Admin, are you able to make it up?
