I hope this doesn't turn into a weekend at bernies or a what about Bob scenario...Might be easier to go to the moon...Variable this is Knife over.
Toooo funny Cobalt24sx ! Glad you were able to be on the lake vs. land after all. I'm going to call the Comfort Inn in Huntingdon tonight to make reservations (for the 20th and 21st of this month) and do a recon/1st visit to Raystown prior to the August get together. See everyone soon!

Cobalt24sx it was nice seeing you guys again. You should of stayed for a little longer. Bob came with his 82' House boat.
GripB if you like to look us up give us a call. If you need my number again I will PM it to you. We are on channel 6 all the time also. We will be there also for that Monday and Tuesday.
bperg not sure where we will be this weekend. But we will be out some where around 7-Points
Also one of our dock mates are starting a new board for Raystown Marina. If any of the new people here have any questions about the lake. Feel free to log on to it. Here is the site www.lakeraystownresortmarina.com

Our car lot is 2 1/2 miles east of the Comfort Inn. Stop in and say hi, maybe we can meet up on the water. Bruce
We'll be driving by your lot on our way to the Comfort Inn on Sunday, but you're probably closed on Sundays. I'm going to hook up with cattailspa...look us up.

My wife has a family portrait for her grandmother (kids, grandkids & great grandkids) Sunday at 9:00am in Reading. As soon as they are done, we're getting on the turnpike and heading out. Hopefully arrive around lunch time or so. I'll get you on my VHF or cell when we arrive.
Couple of questions for ya.
1) Where's the closest ramp near the Comfort Inn? Is it near you?
2) What's the best way from the turnpike to Huntingdon...522 to 22 right into town?. It looks like you do some "back-tracking" on 522 though when you get off of the t-pike , but seems like the most direct. Let me know. Thanks.

That is about the best way to go unless bperg has a better one. Now for you to get to the Resort they is a better way to go once you are off the turnpike.
The ramp you can use is Snyder's it is very close to you. Then when you are on the lake follow the mile markers. We will be around mile marker 7. Snyder's is about mile marker 3

522 to 22 is the flattest, if you weren't bringing a boat I could take you through the mountains, but I don't recommend it with a boat. Snyder's run is your best bet to launch.

I'm looking forward to BABC weekend at Raystown. I spent Sunday cleaning up Rough Draft and getting the trailer ready. I changed out the gear oil in the oil bath hubs. I was shocked at how little gear oil is actually in there. I only used 1/2 qt for all four hubs and I completely drained them.

Looks to be a good time, I just hope the temps are not like this past weekend. I could settle for a few degrees cooler and no rain.
We started making ice for the weekend. I need to top off the boat with fuel, make her nice shine, and check the hubs.
Last year the rear seat of the truck was filled and the bed was filled, this year we will have to save a little space for the first mate and all of his stuff.

As my wife says, it is a weekend planned by guys. Who knows what will happen and when.
Last year Cattails was the ring leader and I elect that he leads again. One request, can I be at the opposite end of the raft up from the guy with the blender?
Last year people boated on their own Friday, then met at the dock for some social time. Saturday, met in a cove and hung out all day, some ate dinner at the resort restaurant and Admin hosted a campfire. Sunday we packed up camp and headed for home.
