I've seen the posts about using Salt Away or other products to clean your boat. I understand about using the products on the surfaces of the boat and all.

What I don't understand is, how do you use one of these products for your engine if it's the kind that doesn't use a "radiator" for cooling.

Mine is a Bayliner with the Mercruiser motor and Alpha Gen 2. Is there somewhere I can put one of these products in the cooling system to clean the saltwater out??

So far I have not taken my boat out in the ocean. I have watched guys who come in and they hook up the muffs and run it for awhile. Is that good enough or do I even need one of the products to rinse out the insides.

Sorry I'm not using the correct terminology as it's way too late at night and just can't remember em... Yaaaawwwnnnn... bug_eyes

An attachment comes with the bigger bottles of Salt Away that sdrews onto the inlet of your muffs or outlet of the hose. You can then run it through your engine.

As with anything some swear by it and some say its a waste of time, especially for rinsing the motor. I use it, more so for getting the salt spray off of the boat, it does seem to help.
