The last week of July we are going to do some traveling. One place we are going is to the Pepin area as my daughter is starting to enjoy the Little House series. We will be dragging the boat along and so the question is: where in this area do we want to boat? We are mostly interested in seeing the sights, though some watersports or swimming would be nice too. We will probably stay in RedWing because my wife was there many years ago and would like to go back. Thanks in advance!

I don't boat in this area too much but I know this is where ernesto boats.

Cruising along the Mississippi is always fun and scenic. Lake Pepin is not ideal for watersports as it get a bit choppy out there but either side of the lake you will find plenty of places to play.

Just along from Red Wing is Lake City and there claim to fame is that water-skiing was invented there.

If you cruise far enough then experience going through one of the Locks, it's kinda fun.
