Simple fix to HOA BS... next time you plan on bringing your boat home, call them and let them know beforehand. Tell them it'll be there for maybe 2-3 days for whatever reason, and gone.
I live in an unincorporated area of the county of Riverside, and there are no sidewalks, no 'green areas' nothing to have a HOA for, BUT there is a county ordinance that any type of vehicle, be it an RV, boat, trailer, or standard vehicle, it cannot be 'stored' on the streets for more than 72 hours. I've had my RV on the street in front of my house for 3 years and never had a problem until about 3 months ago. Someone complained, and me and a neighbor with a boat on the street got a yellow tag. The neighbor was fortunate as he could pull his boat up his driveway... I'm not so fortunate so had to find a storage unit.
Point is, I called the county offices of code enforcement Tuesday and told them I was bringing my RV home Wednesday to do some maintenance, wash it and pack up for a 4 day vacation, then it would be here for a day or 2 afterwards... their response? "Thank you for calling us Mr. Carroll, we appreciate the headsup!"
Communication.... but HOA's do suck!! LOL!
