Company?

And why is this in Towing and trailering?

Got home last night and the admirals car was in my spot in the Garage. Wouldn't start. It appears to me to be a bad fuel pump, but we'll find out later when the dealer calls.
Called my neighbor who has access to a Car Hauling trailer, but it is currently over 100 miles away, so I thought, why not check to see if my towing insurance covers breakdowns in the garage. Sure enough USAAs only questions were if there were any injuries, and where did I want the car towed?
Driver showed up less than an Hour after I called and the car is on a flatbed to the dealer, with only a signature from me. USAA will be directly billed.
Same excellent service as when I blew the Tranny towing the boat to the lake 300 miles from home 4 years ago.
If you are eligible to have USAA as an insurance company do it.

Clark Howard (talk radio consumer advocate-guy) just raves about this company.

From usaa.com (I was curious)
Who is Eligible?
Children of USAA members.
Active-duty officers and enlisted personnel.
National Guard and Selected Reserve officers and enlisted personnel.
Officer candidates in commissioning programs (Academy, ROTC, OCS/OTS).
Former military personnel:
- If you're no longer in the military, you are eligible until you turn 35.
- If you continue to serve in the military after you turn 35, eligibility expires upon separation or retirement from the military.

USAA thumb

We have USAA for auto, boat and homeowners. We also have our primary checking with their bank. I just received an unsolicited homeowners insurance quote from the good hands folks. They quoted exactly half of what we're paying with USAA. There are probably some strings attached and I suspect its a "read the fine print" rate. Even so, I just tossed it without inquiring further due to the excellent customer service I have received from USAA over the last 25+ years.

Phil nailed the details on USAA eligibility....

When I was shopping for a Homeowners Policy 10 years ago, they were less than half of anyone else.
Shortly after, we transferred my auto policy to USAA – another 50%+ saving.
When we bought our boat three years ago, my salesman said I should expect up to $600 a year for boat insurance.
He didn’t believe me when I told him my policy was under $200.

When I became a USAA member in 1998, I was still in the military.
My wife & daughters received membership numbers and are eligible for life.

An old post that talks about USAA...
Old post...

Justi, nice to hear of the continued great service from them thumb

Several of you have been with them for a long time.

How are you still eligible? .... Reserves?

When you become a member (per the guidelines you quoted above), you are a member for life.

That is my understanding anyway...

I've been with USAA for over 30 years and they are an excellent company with the best service I've found anywhere. I believe you have eligibility for life once you qualify.
