Maybe it's because someone stashed 4000 lbs of marijuana in it.

Interesting news last night at Shelter Island.

The morning news showed video of the huge hole that the police cut in the boat to find the 2 tons of weed.

Arrest at Shelter Island

Sounds like an alert guy on Vessel Assist was credited with turning them in.

Another report on it, evidently it was a catamaran.

Boat seized

i can't figure out why when the boat's engine conks out in Mexican waters, and they then call seaTow and get pulled across the border to where you technically are supposed to go thru customs (but i don't think any pleasure boats ever do),
and ask to be pulled to one of our highest visibility, patrolled Navy ports, with the boat almost underwater from the weight of dope ??! d
... with customs agents and border patrol agents almost tripping over their feet over there in that location?

master minds at work

when stopped by a police once, i successfully used the excuse "my brother borrowed the car last night. let's find the #$%%$$ and ask him where THAT came from". doubt these guys could have used the same line with 2 TONS! just reinforces the old adage...."all things in moderation".

The feds are so smart they took the Mercedes to be x-rayed when they clearly had NOT gotten the dope yet.
