I drive a diesel, and see no such phenomenon. I'll continue to pay the price, as I'm not going back to a gasser for my tow vehicle. Global warming or no, there will be a silouette of me putting $145 worth of diesel into my truck on my head stone... Death before a Prius.

We saw a little dip in diesel for a day or two. Then someone coughed and the markets went nuts.

What I am seeing is gas prices getting closer to diesel. I use premium gas in my car so the difference is down to about 30 cents per gallon. A few weeks ago the differential was about 50-70 cents per gallon.

Be glad you don't have a minimum wage job. $5.85 per hour doesn't go very far!

Been there, when it was a whole lot less than 5.85.

Saturday, I filled up the Expedition.
.. came close to filling anyway – $100 pump shut-off; 25.516 gals @ $3.919
Similar fill-up two Sats before - $100 shut-off @ $3.839

Today I filled the Jeep GC, $84; 21.325 gals @ $3.939

At least the bottom of each receipt says “Thank you” smirk

3 gas stations near my house all within 1/4 mile.

station 1- $4.12
station 2- $3.89
station 3- $3.95

Let's think about this, gas is around $4 a gallon or $1 a quart. I was at a Phillies game a few weeks ago and a 12 oz beer was $8. What does a bottle of water cost? I don't care how thirsty I am for a beer, I am not paying $8 for one.

Been driving the Aspencade to work and back, 27 miles each way. I need to fill up every 3 days, and it's been $16 and change each time.

For a friggin' motorcycle...

As for our weekend trip, after spending an estimated $1 per mile for our 155 mile journey in the motorhome, I only used $30 in gas for the boat for the weekend...

Maybe I should start running the Jordan River to work...

Not that I paid for it back then, but, I do remember gas prices at around 25 cents.. Also, here in California, they had "gas wars". Trying to compete for the lowest prices around.. AND you got a bunch of green stamps.. or was it blue stamps at the gas stations and green stamps at the supermarkets...

But that was when someone else pumped the gas, cleaned the windows, checked the oil, checked the air in the tires and checked the radiator....that didn't matter which island you went to.. Self serve wasn't an option...They also came to you for the money, then if needed bring you back the change. Or the credit card thing to sign if you used that..geez. free air and free water.. If you smoked you could get out, get 35 cents out and put it in a machine, pull a lever and clunk, there was ur cigs.. A clean bathroom..

I'm lucky to even find a station with air, or the squeegee thing filled with clean water and paper towels...

Amazing that that's even a memory. My daughter has no idea. Course I guess that's what my folks said about us.. I can see my daughter telling her kids.. When I was your age we used this stuff you pumped into the car.. or maybe not..

And what was minimum wage then.. ... Ahhh the good ol days..

And there was always a gentleman or two sitting in front of the station on wooden coke crates drinking a 6.5 oz coke with a pack peanuts poured into it or maybe an Orange Crush. Wonder if they were fussing about gas rising from 23 cents to 25 cents per gallon? laugh laugh laugh
