I like the extra running surface on that bottom one but having the outdrive tucked in like that would make it harder to clean up after boating. I also like the wider reverse chine on that one. Don't like the lack of strakes.

The other two look to be a bit deeper V and have strakes. I think they'd be a bit better riding in heavy chop.

Oops, I got in the middle of your pics. Sorry SB.

The bottom two, with their very low deadrise would be hard riding. I'm surprised at that Crown's low deadrise.

Any look like they would take/ride a stiff afternoon chop better?

Crownline varies alot from model to model on their hulls' deadrise. Depends somewhat on what "year time frame" the hull was invented.

Don't the cometition boats plane quicker?

None of the steeper dead rise boats appear to have enough strakes and chines.

This particular boat has pretty good chines and strakes and has a pretty good "cut" on the bow for a deck style boat.

And I am not biased!

One question I've always had that may be able to be answered by the experts here, is why does the outer strake have that notch in it for the last 24" or so at the stern?

That chine cut is common on ski boats. Has to do with wake shaping and low speed behavior.

The chine cut (as Kelly put it) at the stern just to the left of the trailer's fenders. What is that for? Throwing more wake?

Is that hull side where the recess is, out of the water by say 20 mph unless everyone and everything onboard is located towards the stern of the boat?
