just in this past year possessing alcohol on the beaches here in SanDiego county is no longer legal ...
(and the police have handheld wands that sniff for booze so pouring it in gatoraide bottle don't work)
... and there has been a grassroots effort to get a big multiple 'kayak/raft paddle-out and tie-up with booze' out in the water just off shore at the beaches where theoretically it is still legal to drink booze, for this weekend's festivities,
but our city attorney has proclaimed that this is just an obvious circumvention of our beach's no-booze law and has ordered tickets to be given.
Now if you have a
real boat out there in that same general area it
is still legal to drink.
Go figure.
These tickets will probably be tested in courts of law. (?)
I will say, that even though i will still drink a beer, 1 usually, while boating, that it no longer seems that fun to me while in this crowded area. That is partially because of what i have read from some of the people from this site.
I am still a rowdy guy perhaps, but approach boating a lot more cautiously.
