turn it on in the driveway at high fan speed, max AC. measure the discharge at one of the vents, rule of thumb it should ba around 50*...

I think your still low on charge.

Well, the A/C was hardly blowing any cold air this morning, so I added some freon. It was blowing cold in the garage after I added the stuff. It seems to work just fine on HI, but doesn't blow cold air on low, just cool air.

I'm taking it to the shop tomorrow when I get back to Lawrence.

Had Meineke check the AC system today. They gave it a thumbs up. It did work better on the 140 mile trip home. We shall see if it continues to work well.

BTW: They tried to sell me new serpentine and power steering belts They wanted $170 for the belts and labor. I called a Toyota dealership up. For OEM belts and labor? $87. So, not sure I trust the shop's reading of the AC system.... I promptly told them !NO! on the belts!

Ouch!
