Well, so much for those owl bird deterrent things...



This is actually a common occurrence at this boat. I think the ducks like hangin' with the dude.

I just happened to have my camera on the dinghy when I took this photo.

Man, I can think of a lot of captions.

"Hey baby, wanna take a moonlight swim?"

"Hey man, what'cha looking at?"

"You know Dave, that Owl hasn't moved from that spot in 3 years."

Those owls make for a nice boat ornament, but that's about it.

Well, at least until the seagulls peck their plastic eyes out.

Then they just look sad...

We use rubber snakes to keep the ever-pesky robins from nesting under our deck roof at camp. It worked fine for years until this spring when a robin built a nest directly on one of the snakes! Go figure!

A new game for kids in school:

Duck, Duck, Owl!

If we stand on the port side, we might be able to balance out this list to starboard.

Now if we could just get that clueless Owl to help.

"Hey George, after we take our dumps here, do we need to tip that owl?"

that is just pathetic
not only does that guy now still have bird poop on his boat but he has that cheap plastic junk owl there too,

there are 'moving owls' that are better, they sit on the end of of wood pole and their kite-like wings flap in the wind,
at least if the real birds still find them amusing and harmless, at least the owl looks cool on your boat

The boat is only a couple down from ours, so I should print the photo out for him.

"Dude, I think that owl is giving me the stink eye!"

I wish I could have taken a photo the first time I saw this photogenic phenomenon a year or two ago...

At that time, there was one duck, standing right next to the owl and standing fully upright. It was almost as if the duck was peering over the side of the platform, trying to see what the owl was looking at.

Maybe the boat owner is trying to attract the ducks. If so, he's brilliant!
