My son and I were hanging out lakeside in the 100 deg heat and looked down to see this female mallard duck and her 6 ducklings settle down lakeside for what we thought was a rest. I took these pics then we looked up to see 3 osprey (2 males trying to attract a female). They put on quite a show with the males showing there talons to each other while calling the female. Our local osprey that hangs out next to our place lost out. Must have been to other males coveted north shore real estate. As soon as they moved on the ducks went on their way. We then guested Moma duck was doing a little hiding from the big bad osprey. Anyway, here are some pics.

Nice mama duck and duckling photos. I'm guessing that fish isn't the only thing on the Osprey's desired menu. Good job of it by the mama duck in hiding her young.

Finally got some shots of the Osprey as she was fishing and hanging out in the tree next to our lake house.
